2010 Fair Planning:
The Committee discussed a date to hold a Brat Fry at Scott & Lori’s Family Foods for a fundraiser. The Committee chose June 11th from 10 am until 2 pm. Bernie Shelton will talk to Gary Smith about getting a few picnic tables from the park and haul them to Scott & Lori’s. Theresa Schindler is available to work the entire time. Other Fair Committee members can be there to help over the lunch rush.
Phil checked on prices for brats and hamburgers for the Fair. Family Foods gave a price for brats of $2.49/pound at the lowest and $2.49/pound for hamburger. Maplehurst Meats gave a price of $2.29/pound for brats and $2.50/pound for hamburger. The Committee will order brats from Family Foods. They will order hamburger from Maplehurst Meats, but it needs to have better packaging. The suggestion was made to put it in plastic bags that would hold approximately 10 pounds/bag.
Bernie is willing to walk around the park and do the 50-50 bucket raffles again this year. They were a good money maker. Cindy will take care of ordering one handicap accessible porta potty for the tractor pull area on the north end of the park.
Samantha will take care of ordering the guns, etc. for the Sportsmen’s Raffle. We will order 400 tickets and sell them for $5 each.
Phil has the parade letter ready to go out. He checked on the Zor groups. The Calliope is already booked for that weekend and the drum corp has retired. They are sending information on another Zor group and Phil will continue to check on the Zor motorcycles. Phil was told to go ahead and schedule Dream Flight. They were a very popular attraction when they were here two years ago. Donna and Harold Parker have agreed to be our Parade Marshalls.
The float needs some repair work. Darryl will get some hard plastic/cork board for the areas where the names go. Bernie has some left over supplies that he will get to Darryl. Virginia brought in the button template for us to look at. She will talk to Kim Poirier about doing the flowers for the queen and her court. Samantha will check into getting crowns for the girls.
Mill Pond Park Design Plan
No additions to the discussion from two weeks ago. We will be meeting again the night before the Parks and Rec meeting.
Bernie made a motion to adjourn, seconded by Virginia. Meeting adjourned at 6:25 pm. Next meeting will be held May 11th at 5:30 pm.
