Meeting Minutes
June 10, 2010

The meeting was called to order by Chairperson Phil Greschner at 5:35pm. Members in attendance were Cindy Cardinal, Phil Greschner, Samantha Johnson, Theresa Schindler, Virginia Zaidel and Bernie Shelton. Absent was Mary Oelke Others in attendance: Bob Zaidel.

The secretary’s report was presented. Theresa made a motion, seconded by Samantha to accept the secretary’s report as written. Motion carried.

Treasurer Samantha Johnson reported that the checkbook balance is $4,453.95. The savings account balance is $1,657.73.

Central WI Truckers Picnic:
We will hold onto any beer left from the Fair for the Truckers Picnic

2010 Fair Planning:
Queen contestants need to get weekly phone calls to keep them selling tickets. All committee members need to watch for specials on soda. Maplehurst Meats informed Phil that hamburger prices have risen to $3.00/lb. Martin Meats will sell to us for $2.30/lb. We will have samples from Martin Meats at the next meeting and a final decision will be made. Samantha suggested that we purchase our crowns from Ebay. The cost would be half what it is at Walmart. It was also suggested that we could check prices at Claire’s. Kim Poirier will do artificial flowers for us for the girls again this year. We will not do fresh flowers as the cost of the artificial bouquets will be around $150 due to the number of queen candidates. Earl’s Rides will expand wrist band hours on Friday night by an hour and wrist bands will be good from 6-10 pm. We need to pick up a couple of piñatas. Phil said that we could get chopped onions through Hayloft for $.79/lb. Some committee members felt this would be a good idea due to the number of hours it takes to chop all the onions for the fair. We will make a final decision next meeting. We will do a ¼ page ad in the Central Wisconsin Shopper at a cost of $197.40 and the West Central Wisconsin Shopper at a cost of $117.60. Phil will check on costs for the O-W Enterprise. Fair posters were handed out for Committee members to put up around the area. Tickets for the Sportsmens Raffle Fundraiser were also handed out to committee members.

Set up for Brat Fry at Scott & Lori’s:
Bernie and Samantha will set up on Friday morning with help from members of the Fire Dept. Mentors will contact their queen candidates to see if they can help. Needed roasters, etc were packed up to be moved to Scott & Lori’s.

Meeting was adjourned at 6:30 pm. Next meeting will be held June 24 at 5:30 pm at Mill Pond Park.
