PLANNING COMMISSION MINUTES
FOR
JUNE 8, 2010


The City of Owen Planning Commission met on Tuesday, June 8, 2010 at 6:30 p.m. at the Owen City Hall. Clerk Ernst served as secretary. Present Board Members: Dan Tolzmann, Gary Smith, John Mauel, Bernie Shelton and Chris Brooks. A quorum being present, the meeting was called to order. Public present: Mayor Tim Swiggum, Deputy City Clerk/Treasurer Cindy Cardinal and Brandon Edblom.

FLOODPLAIN ORDINANCE
A revised Floodplain Zoning Ordinance Sec. 13 -2 was presented to the Planning Commision. FEMA has been working the last few years to update all municipal floodplain maps. The City’s last FEMA map was dated April 13, 1979. A Shelton/Brooks motion and subsequent vote approved the revised Floodplain Zoning Ordinance as Sec. 13-2 of the Code of Ordinances for the City of Owen and to recommend to the Owen Council to hold a public hearing to repeal and recreate the Ordinance.

CONDITIONAL USE
Brandon Edblom who resides at 783 N. West Street, Parcel #265.0362.000 has requested a conditional use permit to keep horses in an Urban Transitional District. A Shelton/Smith motion and subsequent vote approved a conditional use permit to house up to three horses, maintain good fences and good animal care, to Brandon Edblom.

A Shelton/Mauel motion and subsequent vote approved to adjourn the June 8, 2010 Planning Commission meeting at 6:43 p.m.
