Meeting Minutes
May 25, 2010
The meeting was called to order by Chairperson Phil Greschner at 5:30pm. Members in attendance were Cindy Cardinal, Phil Greschner, Samantha Johnson, Mary Oelke, Theresa Schindler, Virginia Zaidel and Bernie Shelton (arrived at 5:40 pm). Others in attendance: Deanna Oelke.
The secretary’s report was presented. Samantha made a motion, seconded by Mary to accept the secretary’s report as written. Motion carried.
Treasurer Samantha Johnson reported that the checkbook balance is $5,542.63. The savings account balance is $1,657.39.
Central WI Truckers Picnic:
The Fair Committee will be running the beer stand for the Central WI Truckers Picnic on Friday night and Saturday.
2010 Fair Planning:
Phil has ordered 200 brats for our fundraiser on June 11. The committee will charge as follows: Brat-$2; 3 hot dogs-$1 or a hot dog for $.50; Chips and a soda will be an extra $1. Theresa can work from 10-2, Cindy from 11-1, and Phil from Noon-1. Sam and Bernie can also help, but were not sure of the hours they could be there. We will need picnic tables and a grill.
Samantha checked on prizes for the Sportsman’s Raffle fundraiser. We will get two rifles from Sparky’s Sports Shop at a cost of $375 each and a fisherman’s package from O-W Sports & Liquor. The drawing will be held the Saturday of the Truckers Picnic. We will order 400 tickets and sell them for $5 each. Samantha made a motion, seconded by Bernie to get the prizes and the raffle tickets.
Phil discussed what to order for food for the fair. We will get a case of sliced pickles, 4 cases of chips, 3 cases of hot dogs, and 750 brats. Family Foods is going to charge us $2.29/lb. for the brats. Theresa presented a letter that will be sent to the organizations that set up in the park asking for a donation. She was authorized to proceed with the letter. Phil will sign it. The Spike Contest clues will start to appear around the time of Withee Days. Virginia will have information out for the cutest Baby/Toddler contests by the first week of June. Samantha will check on the cost of ordering additional Fair shirts.
We were asked to donate to Relay for Life and House of Friends. Bernie made a motion, seconded by Mary to donate $100 to Relay for Life. Bernie made a motion, seconded by Cindy to buy a goose for House of Friends goose race that occurs during the Fair.
Meeting was adjourned at 6:25 pm. Next meeting will be held June 10 at 5:30 pm at Mill Pond Park.
