APRIL 20, 2010
The City of Owen Common Council met in session on Tuesday, April 20, 2010 at 5:00 p.m. at the City Hall for the Annual Organizational Meeting. A list of appointments was presented and may be viewed at City Hall.
OATHS OF OFFICE
Clerk Ernst administered the Oath of Office to Alderpersons Stephen Heggemeier, Mary Lynn Kiviko and Melvyn Lorence.
ROLL CALL
Mayor Swiggum presided and Clerk Ernst served as Secretary. Present Alderpersons: Dan Tolzmann, Mary Lynn Kiviko, Melvyn Lorence and Stephen Heggemeier. Absent were Dennis Lulloff and Carla Riihinen. A quorum being present, the meeting was called to order. Also present was Cindy Cardinal, Deputy Clerk/Treasurer.
ELECT COUNCIL PRESIDENT
A Lorence/Tolzmann motion nominated Steve Heggemeier. Subsequent vote approved Steve Heggemeier for Council President for a term of 1 year.
LEAGUE MEETINGS
The League of Wisconsin Municipalities will be holding a new officials workshop and a regional dinner meeting. A Heggemeier/Tolzmann motion and subsequent vote approved that any wanting to attend any of the meetings should contact City Hall.
MAYORAL APPOINTMENTS
A Heggemeier/Lorence motion and subsequent vote approved the Mayoral appointments to City committees.
CITY REP APPOINTMENTS
A Tolzmann/Lorence motion and subsequent vote approved the appointments of City Reps. to non-city committees.
OTHER CITY APPOINTMENTS
A Lorence/Kiviko motion and subsequent vote approved the other city appointments.
OFFICIAL DEPOSITORY
A Heggemeier/Lorence motion and subsequent vote approved the designation of Community Bank of Central Wisconsin as the City’s Official depository.
OFFICIAL NEWSPAPER
A Lorence/Tolzmann motion and subsequent vote approved the designation of O-W Enterprise as the City’s Official newspaper.
ADJOURN
A Heggemeier/Tolzmann motion and subsequent vote approved to adjourn at 5:41 pm.
