Owen Police Dept. Mission Statement

The mission of the Owen Police Department is to enhance the quality of life in the City of Owen/Village of Withee by working cooperatively with the public and within the framework of the U. S. Constitution to enforce laws, preserve the peace, reduce fear, and provide a safe environment for all citizens of the Owen-Withee area.

Owen Police Dept. Objectives:

  • Life and individual freedoms are sacred.
  • All people should be treated fairly and impartially.

 

  • The role of the Owen Police Dept. is to resolve problems through the enforcement of laws - not through the imposition of judgment, punishment, threats or bias.

 

  • Because law enforcement and public safety reflect community wide concern, law enforcement must actively pursue the participation of citizens in all aspects of policing.
  • The ultimate responsibility of the Owen Police Dept. is the delivery of quality services.
  • The Owen Police Department's employees are its most valuable asset.
  • Employee involvement in departmental activities is vital for maintaining a productive and positive working environment.
  • The Owen Police Dept. actively promotes and implements enhanced police accountability strategies to increase departmental liability.
