Friends of the Black River Cleanup Day

Friends of the Black River Cleanup Day

Many thanks to the volunteers who showed up to make a difference in the community. It is unbelievable how much we take our rivers and their tributaries for granted and hopefully this effort will multiply in numbers in the future. A big thank you also to the Friends of the Black River and especially Dan Moore who led the Owen effort. We have plans for the future and have identified many other areas in need of cleaning and a few people can do a lot of work as this crew proved.

We need help cleaning the river banks and working on general cleanup of downed trees and branches on the Popple River Trail. Volunteers should meet at the Millpond Park before 8am on April 17, 2021. - see attached flyer!
